Sophia's 15 Rules for Life...

...Well, actually not rules, more like guidelines, I'm not a big fan of rules.

1. You are as wonderful as your dog thinks you are
2. Don't blend in
3. Look back if it makes you smile
4. Yes, it is possible
5. Sing out LOUD!
6. Make today special
7. Smile first, ask questions later
8. Hold hands, not grudges
9. Make time for silly!
10. Color outside the lines
11. Pour yourself a hot cup of Karma (whether that's good or bad, i don't know)
12. If you aren't confused, you aren't paying attention!
13. The three most certain words about life: it goes on
14. Be a hero without the dorky cape!
15. Follow your HEART!

Charlie Is 7!!!

Oh.my.Gosh.WOW!!! (as Charlie would say it)
My little brother is seven! It seemed like just yesterday he was ringing the doorbell pretending to deliver us "lunch". Oh wait, that was yesterday. Never mind. So anyway, Happy Birthday Charlie! I hope you had a great day and even though you can't possibly be reading this because you can't read yet, you'll always be my baby brother.

I LOVE YOU CHARLIE

One of Us

One of Us

Red in a sea of Black
Black empowered, Red a lowly servant.
Red tries to stand up,
Black pushes her back down.
Black makes Red feel useless.
Red is as important as Black,
They both just need to see that.
Red is one of them, not one among them.
Red sits down.
Black helps her stand back up.
One of us.

Charlotte in a sea of people
They control, Charlotte follows.
Charlotte tries to stand up,
They push her back down.
They make Charlotte feel stupid.
Charlotte is as important as them,
They both just need to realize that.
Charlotte is one of us, not one among us.
Charlotte sits down.
They help her stand back up.
One of us.

This a poem that i found one night when i was to awake to go to sleep and there was nothing else to do. personally, i interpret this poem to be about my brother and how he's bound by his disability, but thats just me.

Free Rice

Ok, so I just found out about one of the most awesome websites ever (after mine, of course. just kidding) No seriously, it's awesome. This website donates 10 grains of rice for every right answer you get. Let me explain some more. Go to www.freerice.com, pick your subject, and answer some questions. It's a win-win situation, Free Rice donates 10 grains of rice for every right answer you get (believe me, 10 grains might not sound like much, but it starts adding up. My high score is 2,650 grains donated!), and you learn new stuff. (believe me, I never would have known where Liechtenstein was if it weren't for this website!) This website has become one of my favorite websites in the past day. again the link is http://www.freerice.com. Enjoy!

Heres What Happened Last Week...

Ok so heres what you missed last week. Charlie got his colon removed and his port replaced. Mom and Dad were all stressed because of Charlie's 3 in 1 surgery. While all this was happening Sophia was having an awesome two weeks at Grammy and Poppy's house. She got to see Marine One take off with Aunt Courtney (otherwise known as Aunt Ney Ney), her Dad, and her BFF Dalia. Also her cousin Hannah came down from NJ and they had a blast, sort of. And thats what you missed on "The Crazy Life of the DeLoatches"!

It Sucks To Be A Sibling

If you know us DeLoatche's, you know that we're a very, special, family. If you don't know us, hello random person i probably don't know. If you don't know, I've been blessed with an adorable little brother, Charlie. Normally when you have problems with your brother it's about who gets to choose which show to watch on TV, who gets to go out with Dad, who gets to use the computer, you know, the normal stuff. My brother and I have the whole TV problem seeing as he's obsessed with Disney movies, but all the other stuff, not so much. The bigger issue in my family is the fact that Charlie has Down Syndrome, eats through a tube, has a port, has an illeostomy (who knows if I spelled that right), has had his colon removed, has had a j-tube put in and pulled out, and so much more. he has been in the hospital 68 times so far, and the kicker, he's only 6 years old.
So as you can see, if you think it's hard to be an older sibling, rethink your reasons.
